When there is talk about such issues as global warming and the general state of the environment you probably hear the words ‘fossil fuels’ quite often. Chances are you have learned about fossil fuels in school but it’s been a while and perhaps you have forgotten.

Fossil fuels are fueled formed by natural resources like anaerobic decomposition and buried dead organism. It takes millions of years for fossil fuels to form. The fossil fuels as you know them are coal, petroleum and natural gas. The fossil fuels are low carbon hydrogen ratio fuels like methane or liquid petroleum. This is why there is such a debate as to how much gas people use. Everytime they use gas it’s petroleum that the earth cannot reproduce in enough time to justify using it. This is a big deal and that’s why there are so many great minds working on ways to have alternative fuel sources.

It is believed that these fossil fuels are derived from the remains of dead plants and animals through heat and pressure in the earths crust. Of the worlds energy supply it is believe most of it is fueled by petroleum and then coal and then natural gas. This means that most of the worlds energy sources are from natural fossil fuels. This is why the government is constantly pushing big business to not only reduce emissions but to find alternative power like solar power and wind power. The problem is the cost to overhaul a business with alternative power can be very costly and it is a money equation.

The other issue is that fossil fuels produce 21.3 billion tons of carbon dioxide per year but the earth can only absorb half that amount. There is a range of organic, hydrocarbon, and compounds in any given fuel mixture. The mixture of hydrocarbons is what gives the fuel its properties. Fossil fuels are really important because they can be burned and produce significant amounts of energy. Fossil fuels are so important to the world and also so dangerous to it as well.

Worried About Fossil Fuels? A Refinance Car Loan Can Help

Fossil fuels like oil are what this country runs on. They’re needed, because they power so many things and are used in a lot of others. Recently, there has been some talk about trying to move away from these kinds of fuels and over to things that are cleaner such as solar, wind, and water power. Whether this will happen is still uncertain, but one thing is clear: there are some people who are very interested in getting away from the heavy use of fossil fuels. If you’re one of them but you don’t feel like you can do much about it, there may still be small steps you can take.

For example, you may want to buy a hybrid or electric car, but you can’t afford to right now. That doesn’t mean there isn’t anything you can do. Start saving money, look for ways to cut down on what you’re spending right now and get a refinance car loan so your payments are lower and you’re handing over less interest over time. If you do all of those things you’ll be able to save money faster and you’ll be closer to trading your car in on a hybrid or electric car to help protect the planet.

Fossil fuels are really used in almost everything. It’s hard to reduce your carbon footprint because of that, but there are plenty of small things, like recycling and reusing things, that add up over time if you let them. Start with just one small step that you’re comfortable with and that doesn’t feel like too much of a sacrifice. From that point, move on to other things. If you make small sacrifices, you won’t miss the things you gave up very much. You’ll be doing the planet a huge favor, too, which has to feel good.

If you are a small business owner you’ve heard the pitches and the campaigns to get you to go green but perhaps you’ve always shrugged it off by saying: I don’t have the time or the money or I’m not big enough, they aren’t talking to me. Whether you operate a store front or if you are the head of a mid -level business the decision to go green is yours and yours alone. The facts are it’s easier to go green than you think and when you do go green it could save you a lot of money and keep your balance low on your business’s prepaid credit card in the long run. So here are 4 easy ways to go green.

1. Light Bulbs – This is easy and can start saving you money on your electric bills right away. Outfit all the lights in your office or your company with energy saver light bulbs. They don’t cost much and give you instant savings you’ll enjoy. In addition to saving money please make sure that you turn all lights off when you leave a room or if you have factories you can set a timer that will ensure that if your employees don’t tunrn off the lights, the timer will.

2. Appliances – All appliances, especially big things like dryers and fridges can be energy savers. So can your air conditioning. These appliances don’t cost any additional money but will save you money just by implementing them.

3. Cars – This could be tricky but any company cars you might need to get should be hybrids. These are energy efficient cars that will save you a ton on gas. If you are doing city commuting, say in a cab company or a messenger or delivery service these make sense. Not only can you save money on gas but you can get a tax credit for them as well.

4. Toilets – You can get low flush toilets and they can make great savings on the water bill. These toilets will flush just like a regular toilet but with half of the water. Its a great way to go green.

Using Natural Light

We know that the sun is one of the most powerful sources of energy in the universe. Farmers have been aware of it’s immense power and effect on their crops for centuries. As technology advances farmers have done what they can to use solar energy as a way to increase production as well as use it as an alternative fuel and energy source by the rest of the world. But what about using sun in its most base methods. For instance light can simply be used to light a house. The complete history of lighting is based off the idea of natural light. While things have changed since the Romans used lighting in the 6th century they are still using daylighting and solar lighting as ways to not only give a place an added beauty but also as a way to reduce the amount of fossil fuels that are being burned to create energy.

The systems of daylighting are that which collect sunlight and provide them to the inside of a room. This is considered passive technology that offsets energy use and replaces artificial lighting and offsets non-solar energy and can at times reduce the need for air conditioning saving once again on precious resources. There is also a psychological benefits to sunshine that ordinary lighting cannot provide.

However the idea of daylight design isn’t a simple as putting in a window. Like with most things involving the sun there is quite a bit of science that goes into it. There is a selection of window types that must be right for the positioning of the window and or course there must be a size that will allow maximum light in without being too overbearing. There is also a question of whether or not shading devices may be incorporated into the design in order to be able to cool off the area in the hotter summer months. The fact is that the use of natural light in the house is nothing short of a carefully planned scientific design.

The Payday Advance of Progress

Do you drive a car every day? If you do not live in a part of the world where public transportation is a viable option, and you have a commute to make each day, you no doubt have to use a lot of gas in your life. And that gas can certainly get expensive, especially when your responsibilities increase because one of your kids add an extracurricular activity or you get a job further away from where you live. In this day and age, the amount of oil a person uses can just keep rising until it starts to get downright ridiculous. And did you know that most people’s homes are still powered by coal fired power plants? Do you ever feel like you need to get a payday advance, just to fill up your gas tank every couple of days? If this is the case, you are experiencing a very common problem that people have a little bit more of every year. If only it had a name, like “oil itis” or something. But sadly, it is just our heavy dependence on gas, and the oil from which it is produced. The sad truth of the matter is that the people of our world have grown far too dependent on burning all kinds of things, just to maintain the life styles to which we’ve grown accustomed. Coal is another unfortunate truth of our modern world. For all of the talk about clean energy, most people still derive the power that keeps their heating and AC systems on and their TVs glowing from coal power plants. They burn the coal, it turns the turbines, and the turbines connect to massive generators. These generators, in turn, keep power running through our lives at the pace that we are all hooked on having. If not for coal, life would be a lot tougher for lots of people.
